#123: Read a Novel

I feel like a piece of me was ripped out. Mockingjay was great, and I look forward to reading this series of books again in ten years. I finished a while ago and am now on to reading "Patrick Conway and his Famous Band" by Dr. Mark Fonder (!!)

Looking forward to Hunger Games in a few weeks. Until then, all I can do is have playing tests in band resemble the games. I feel a Quarter Quell coming on...

#122: Read a Novel

The second book in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Read it on my kindle and finished it last night. Started the third right after. I am burning through these and am already sad that it's almost over. I almost want to take more time in between books but I can't! I'm looking forward to the movie too and am interested in how they look at characters that are in book one but pretty unimportant while making a bigger appearance in books two and three. Anyway, I plan on finishing Mockingjay (book three) in the car on the way to Connecticut. This has been a pretty successful vacation for my goals! Who knew?!

#121: Read a Novel

The Hunger Games. First one I read in full on my Kindle! The book is amazing and there are two more to come. Katniss reminds me of my sister, so I quickly told her about it and of course she has already read all three. The book is just excellent.

The movie is going to be released in mid March, but if you want to read the book before hand you can quickly go through it. I read the first in about three days. Really great stuff.

#326: Make a Basket in a Basketball Game (Instant Goal)

I got two. AND ONE WAS A THREE POINTER!!

It was the last day of school before vacation in the faculty vs. student game. It was a game-winning shot! The faculty was up by about twenty points, and after my three pointer they were up by twenty three. Game winning.

I proceeded to do the gayest dance around the gym after each basket. Especially the one from down town.

The fourth graders even made me signs!!

#17: See and Opera I Haven't Seen

Boston Lyric Opera gave me Peter Maxwell Davies' one act opera: The Lighthouse! Turned out I knew two people in the pit--small world!

The opera was excellent. English was good, so I didn't feel bad knowing very little about the work before hand. The pit was great, and the three men in the cast did a nice job. It was based off a true story or three lighthouse keepers who vanished!

No time to write, but it was good and this is done!

#27, #160, #243, # 250, #268

Can I start this by saying I tried to do #197 and failed? FML, but I will prevail. Also, I would like to make an unofficial addendum to #247 (write a musical based on Animal Crossing) saying that Meryl Streep will have a role that is integral to the plot, and that only she can play. Her name will be Meryl Sheep. FYI: I did send an e-mail to Nintendo. They have yet to respond.

On with my successes:

#27: Be in a Musical
Two down, one to go! (I am not counting the opera I was in over the summer, mainly because I know I will be in next years ETC production.) This show was an original piece based off a story by Hans Christian Anderson. I had five students perform with me in the production and a cast of ~75. It was wonderful, and lots of fun!

#160: New Recipe
Ok, I stole these off Melanie's facebook (I would link to her blog, but she never updates it. If she does, I will edit this) and they did not turn out well. Too goopy. I'm sure that    hers, if she attempted them, came out better. Anyway, the recipe is for Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Shells. They looked better than they tasted, and they really didn't look that good.

#243: Get my DAMN oil changed
Only took 70,000 miles.

#250: Watch all the episodes of Big Love
Sooo good. I was recently at a board meeting with a lot of women and pretended they were my harem of wives. This is probably because I'm reading a book (that I'm counting for #105) about polygamist leader Warren Jeffs. Big Love didn't help.

#268: Move to a new condo!
I did this a while ago. No pictures, just come over or get over it.

This was an odd update, but isn't it IS an update, so there's that! Woohoo!
